Safety, sensation, and staying human
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, numb, reactive, or exhausted lately, you’re not broken — your nervous system is responding to a world that asks too much of it. In this week’s blog, I share how collective and vicarious trauma affect the body, why these responses are deeply human, and how gentle, somatic care can help restore resilience and inner steadiness.
Anchors of Peace
In a world gone mad, anchoring in peace is an act of love and courage.
This reflection explores what it means to fight for love—not from fear or control, but from embodied values, tender hearts, and deep inner truth. Whether you’re ready for transformation or simply trying to get through the day, you don’t have to do it alone.

Cultivating Inner Peace
I spent much of my early life chasing peace through control, distraction, and even drugs—anything to escape the chaos I’d internalized. What I eventually learned is that peace isn’t found outside of us; it’s cultivated through presence, embodiment, and a willingness to meet ourselves fully.
Somatic Semantics
My movement away from naming my offerings as “Yoga” comes from a desire for clarity and integrity of intention. Your experience—felt through your own body—is the truest authority on your spiritual evolution. Embodiment is the sacred relationship between mind, body, and spirit—not as separate systems, but as one living wholeness.
Where is God?
When my mother responded, “The Quakers say there is a piece of God within everyone,” I knew this was true.
Not because it made sense to my preschool mind, but because I felt it in my bones, in my heart, and in my gut.
God is in everyone rang true like warm sun on my skin, like floating in the ocean, like bare feet in the dirt.
My wondering stilled for a moment because I heard the truth—not with my ears, but with my whole body. I had a sense of settling, fullness, and comfort. I felt the openness of my solar plexus spread the warmth and ease throughout my body.
Creating Your Life on Purpose: The Power of Sankalpa, Visualization & the Mindset Mantra

Grief is not a river
Grief doesn’t follow a timeline or obey logic—it lives in the body, in the breath, and in the rhythm of life itself. Whether you're grieving a loved one, tending to collective sorrow, or disoriented by the changing tides of our world, this poetic reflection offers a soulful anchor. In honoring my father's death, I discovered grief not as a problem to solve, but as a sacred homeland—a place where our feet touch earth and our hearts remember how to feel fully alive

Menopause is a Homecoming
AUTUMN REJUVENATION (AKA FALL CLEANSE)
The holistic system of Ayurveda provides a framework for living in harmony with your natural constitution, your lifestyle and the climate within which you live. This means attuning and attending to the rhythms of your body, your lifestyle and the environment around you. For example, Spring is a time to be more active in body and mind, to release any sluggishness built up from the long winter with a cleanse and increased heating movement.
MOTIVATION MATTERS
When it comes to self care, motivation matters. Motivation is in the heart and mind, that internal landscape has as much (if not more) effect on your overall health as your behavior. This is why meditation and cultivation of love and respect for yourself has a drastic effect on your overall well being as well as measurable physiological benefits.
PRAYING FOR PEACE
Praying for peace - My first true Sankalpa
Sitting on the carpeted floor of the apartment I shared with a lover who was older than my only living parent, I endeavored to learn how to pray honestly.
CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE, CHANGE YOUR LIFE
Changing your attitude changes your life. This is much easier said and written than done. I have been through many revolutions and evolutions in my life (from quitting drugs and resolving trauma to revolutionizing my relationship with money, work and worth), and one thing is clear to me: Daily contact with the practices of the person that you are changing into is the practical key to changing your attitude and as a result your life.
LEARNING FROM COVID
I had covid in late May 2022, it was a relatively mild case, but the messages I heard from my spirit were loud and clear. Delivered with a sense of finality, minus the subtlety and nuance that usually comes with spiritual insight.
